poster for Bretagne
There you go: a user-friendly approach to what is gonna be my main struggle for next three years. Rather for biologists only, I'm afraid.
Still - mum, dad - I think you should have a look and at least try to read it until the end, so that by the end of the year when I come for Christmas you will be able to ask at least one relevant question on my progress ;)

Can't find my phone
A great thing I just found in web, if you can't find your phone and there's nobody around who could give you a ring, this website will actually call your mobile! Please! Give me more of such ideas! An ideal solution though, would be 'burn the dishonest finder's hand and bring it back to me' botton...
I run to the Nikon France Espace Formation to check if there's anything I can do about my broken camera. Fingers crossed.

Everyday walk to the lab - have a look around!
And here you have some photos (not mine, of course) of the places I pass on my way to the lab:
Opera Bastille (from my apartment I can see the dressing-room!! Would prefer the Eiffel Tower, but this is not bad too ;) )
Place de la Bastille
Boulevard Henri VI
'Chez Margot' restaurant (an alternative if molecular mechanisms of nuclear positioning in mammalian oocytes don't turn out to be my thing...)
Pont de Sully
Institut du Monde Arabe - behind which, there is an old and quite ugly building of UPMC, block C, where Laboratoire de Biologie du Developpement is localized.
And finally, the view from the top of my building. Some lucky bastards (like my boss, Stephane) can enjoy this view from behind their desks.. Where my desk is, I prefer to have the roller blinds shut.

Back in Warsaw, I was making big plans about getting a scooter in Paris, an oldschool design, preferebly pistachio or lemonisch, that would make me feel more like a real parisienne. And now it takes me less than 15 minutes walking to get to the lab from my apartment, too little to even get the engine warm...
I will get one though, eventually, and maybe find some friends in another part of the city to visit...

Broken camera
It seems that my bold luck follows me..... Right after making the first post on my brand new shiny blog, my camera started to go crazy, the lens kept opening and closing some 10 times after which the screen turned all white and it said: "Errore obiettivo"... From good old times I still have the lenguage set up for italian and now I'm not even sure if it says that the lens is broken or is it something like 'fatal error' which I guess leaves me with little options but getting a new one..
So you will have to wait to see my apartment until I earn the money for a camera, or if you want to make it quick... just come to Paris ;))
